Super Shaker

Okay, so a few people have asked me what the heck is sprinkled on the roasted squash, garlic and red lentil soup from a couple posts ago.  If I was an organized person, I would have told you what it was when I originally posted the recipe.  But, of course, I'm not an organized person and I didn't.  Sorry about that.

Basically, the shaker is a way to get more fibre, protein and omega 3's in my kids' diets.  What's in it from week to week really depends on what I have in my fridge.  Just put the shaker on the table when it's time to eat and let the kids shake away.  Kind of like Shake N Bake, but without the bake and with a bit more shake.

Except it's good for them.

And there's no chicken involved.

Okay, it's really not like Shake N Bake at all.

Super Shaker
Yields about 1 cup

2 tablespoons each:

chia seeds
hemp seeds
finely chopped cashews
finely chopped pistachios
finely chopped walnuts
finely chopped sunflower seeds

1 tablespoon each:

ground flaxseed
sesame seeds

Mix everything together in a small container with a lid.  Store in the refrigerator and sprinkle to your heart's desire!
